It was a privilege and a pleasure to talk with this man and share a culturally authentic experience on the Waitangi River with his whanau and Taiamai Tours.

Fantastic REFIX Furniture
I Just LOVE this up-cycled furniture craftsman Aaron Thompson. He's let me share some photos and words ...
Ari is a a cabinet maker with experience in the shopfitting/superyacht industry, and runs his own small business called Refix LTD, specialising in Upcycled and redesigned furniture.
"All of my processes and products are non-toxic and sustainable, with an emphasis on exacting craftsmanship and accuracy to meet my client's needs" Ari says.
He also runs workshops where clients are able to resdesign and upcycle their own piece of furniture, learning new techniques while working on their own vision.
"Every piece has a history and a story to tell. When you give it a place in your home, you breathe life into it and allow its unique story to continue within your own."

.... reflections of old ...
A sash window in Outram's former bank, built in 1869-70, and after the demise of the Bank of Otago in 1873, managed for the National Bank of New Zealand by William Larnach - of Larnach Caslte fame.
The bank operated in Outram until 1957-58 when it was sold and has since been used as a family home, bicycle sales and repair business and now antiques and treasure trove.
Reflected is the historic Outram Hotel - still a watering hole for Taieri Plains locals, and SH87 travellers en-route to Central Otago and the rail-trail.
